WHO is speaking? What's your age? To what extend are you educated? What are some of your preoccupations (i.e., inner thoughts or obsessions)? How do you walk?! How do you talk?!
WHAT is going on in this part of the play? What are the circumstances? With whom do you have important relationships? Above all, what conflicts are you up against?
WHERE is this monologue taking place? What part of the world? What part of the town or countryside? What part of the house? What part of the room?!
WHEN is this monologue taking place? Morning? Noon? Night? What is the approximate year or decade? What is the season of the year -- fall? winter? spring? summer?
WHY are you saying and doing these things? What motivates you as a character? What do you live for? What are you fighting for? What's at stake here? Who do you love!?!
